Rhinebeck 2015

Ruth, Martha and I had a fabulous time at
Rhinebeck this year. Such a good time in fact,
that this is the only picture from the
festival that I have.

We all  controlled our spending this year......
This is my stash...
Sweatshirt from festival, 4 skeins of yarn...
a beautiful mug
Martha got two skeins of yarn, gloves,
sweatshirt and a mug

Ruth got that pretty fleece her stuff is on,
a mug, , long sleeve T-shirt, two  yarn
kits, buttons and a mug

Friday we went to FDR 's house.  This is the back view

This is the front,,, pretty, huh
Ruth is working on her shawl.
So so pretty.
Pea Trellis by Anne Hanson
Martha has started the 2nd lace section of
her Lilli Pilli shawl. Its very pretty in person,
you can't really see the strip color here like
you can in person....

 I got my yarn wound

I really liked the Mt  Rutsen Studio yarn....

And of course, my favorite, Fiber Optics
had ot split the yarn in two balls because there
was a knot... remember...there
are no knots in knitting !!!

I finished up the first Shur'tgal sock.
Like how the pattern makes a baby diamond
before starting the toe decrease.

 Different heel
this is the truest  color picture
I took careful notes...want them both to be the same...

Have a  great week

Feeling Blue

 I'm feeling rather blue today....
Finished up Betty's blue socks this weekend.
Notice the stripey toes...kinda cute I guess.

Pattern is Tesserae, which I have used a few times before.
Lorna's Laces sock yarn, blue tones.
Have had it in my stash for a long long time.

Started a sock for my sister in law for Christmas
Shur'tugal pattern

Yarn is Fiber Optics. I love this yarn, and have never
made a sock for myself with it. That will change, soon, I hope.
I want to get some more at Rhinebeck next weekend.
Color is blue....
I'm liking it a lot.  The pattern is not intuitive, and I
really cannot read my knitting too much. So I have to
pay attention.
The left leaning and right leaning stitches are something
new to me - a new method.
It gives the pattern a nice texture.
Sorry I could not flip this the right way...sigh

Martha is zooming along with her Lili Pilli shawl. She
wanted to have it done, but she did lesson plans instead
so she can just relax the whole time we are at Rhinebeck next
weekend.

Ruth is away this weekend.

Joe and I went fishing and it was a beautifully, blue day.
Not much color in the leaves, which is unusual for October 11th.

We were at Irondequoit Bay, off of Lake Ontario, NY

Joe had two hooks on his line so most of the time he caught
two perch at once.

This was a monster!
We fished in front of this pretty blue house all day.
No one was home.
I caught about 8 fish or so...not many compared to Joe.
I was knitting, and just enjoying the beautifulness of the day.
This is his (our) final catch

Ruth, Martha and I will be at Rhinebeck next weekend so no
post...Have a wonderful two weeks, dear knitters.

Reunited and it feesl so good

Reunited and it feels so good
Remember that song from the 80's...

That song was going thru my head when I
put on Mrs Garter this weekend.  Some ladies were
standing behind me in a store and asked If I made it
and said how nice it was.  My head swelled so big
I could hardly get it out of the store!
This is a weeping cheery tree Joe just planted
where we took some shrubs out.

Just turned the heel on the 2nd sock....I should hopefully be able to
zip down the foot this week. I have not been knitting as much after
work - trying to get a walk in at night.

Here are my color choices for Lilli Pilli shawl
(which Im making scarf size...)
Probably enough yarn here for two.
Madelinetosh...the blue is actually a nice green color...

Ruth is done knitting her sweater and just has to
put the pieces together..she is unexpectedly traveling
this weekend. Here is a picture of her current sock:
Briar Rose sock blank...pattern is her own design.
the colors are beautiful!

Martha is working away on her Lilli Pilli wrap.
She is hoping to get done by Rhinebeck. She has not been
knitting much after work either.  She is not thrilled with
knitting the garter stitch section....I think its lovely

I can see how it would get tiresome knitting (I will find out when I
start mine!) but I like the effect....

Since my knitting is so dull I'll share weekend cooking..

Veggie pizza on Wegman's wheat crust
It was very good. Onions, orange peppers, broccoli,
tomatoes and fresh basil. I like that I can control the amount
of cheese, so it's not so fattening.
Of course I made one for Joe that was extra cheese and
extra pepperoni!

Today I have made sausage soup

that I think will go great with the soup.

I have to thoughtfully think of what I will bring
to Rhinebeck to knit.  Needs to be kind of brainless.
Martha always brings complex patterns and has no trouble
knitting/talking..I'm not that talented!

Till next week....
