A quick post

The blue EZ sweater is done, will show pictures soon. It doesn't look much different than the last time you saw it. The shrug is almost done - my fingers are green from the hand dyed yarn so I want to finish it up so this green nonsense stops! Wait till you see it - cute! Joe's sock is almost done - I'm quite bored with it. The yarn is so so - will not use it again - but it's ok for brainless knitting. My brain has been so fogged lately even brainless stuff is too much.

Other news:
I heard today that one of my good friends from the old job is quite ill and only has a 20% chance of recovery - I'm quite sad.

It is wierd to have the spring sunshine beaming down on piles of SNOW!

HAVE A SAFE WEEK

An almost finished sweater

The EZ sweater is done, except for sewing up the sleeves. I'm not in the mood tonight, so maybe tomorrow. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It is a tad bit bunchy in one section, almost like it needed another decrease round, but all in all I'm pleased with it. I'm thinking a nice blocking will straighten that out. I changed the pattern a bit during the last chart - I like mine better. EZ had some little rows going up in the neck that I didn't care for. Blocking will also fix the wonky neck. It is nice and warm - the way this weather is going, I may get to wear it this year.

I have been doing a little bit on the shrug I started last fall. I had goofed it up (actually screwed it up royally) and had to rip out 2 inches. With the two sweaters and the holiday knitting I just put it away till now. I've probably done 6 inches or so since I started back up again. The recipe calls for 25 inches total. I'm hoping to get 35 or more. Pam at Spiritwork made one and said it definitely needed to be much longer. I'm using some yarn I got at the fibre festival. Not sure if I would have enough so I got some Blue Sky Alpaca to add to the ends to make sure it would fit. If you look closely at the picture of the model in the picture, you will see how short the sleeve is. I'm hoping mine will come down 3 or 4 inches more than that.

Of course I have some brainless knitting going on - some socks for Joe out of the bamboo yarn. I am not loving this yarn as much as the trekking. This is the Pronatura w/bamboo.

I had my camera in my purse last week so took some pictures of my office. I work in a place with very small office areas so I am lucky to have so much room. It's cleaned up a bit now.

This is a view facing my boss' office,

and the view to the conference room:

I'm so lucky to have such a nice space to work in - especially compared
to my last job.

Both kids are on college break - I'm hoping that does not mean a lot of sleepless
nights for me.

Have a safe week.

Spring? NOT!

With the time change it is staying light till 7:30ish now and it is very hard to stay inside because of the 24" or so of snow we got last weekend. Abbey is still finding it hard to go out - she has a little path Joe snowblowed for her and when she wanders off of it she totally sinks to her belly. It is way past time to get out and walk - I am mostly done with one sweater and so it is ok for spring to come now....hear me spring? We're waiting! Like a dummy I saved all of the ends of my colorwork sweater to sew in at the very end - that will take a few hours this weekend and then I can wear it. I will have pictures to show you - I am so happy with how it turned out! I have been working on a shrug I started last fall - had to frog a few inches but am back on track. I'm thinking of a summer sweater to knit....

In other news:
Joe is here this week.....enjoying the 60ish degree weather....

till the weekend.....toodles.
