Twas the Week Before

Twas the Week Before
Christmas, and the knitting needles
are flying, trying to get last minute gifts
done.

Betty's socks are the first to go...
we are having lunch tomorrow and
she will get them...

I'm working on the Just for you 3
mystery KAL.
The yarn is sheperds wool, in plum.
Darker yarn so harder to photo.
Very nice  yarn!

It's a relaxing knit, but quite dull.
I'm working on some boot socks. Almost
done with the 2nd one.  Making the pattern up.
Yarn is acrylic....It's an experiment, so I didn't
use good yarn...now I'm sorry.  but I can always
make more. Size 6 needles, so they are
going fast.  Go to the knee...
I may get a hat in before next week....not sure
since it's colorwork, but I'll try.

Ruth is making dishrags for a Christmas
present...She has pumped out 4 so far in
a short time!

Martha is done with body of her sweater,
and has a small start on the sleeves.

She has been working on this hat/scarf for
her son. It's alpaca because he is alergic to
wool.  She will knit till she runs out of white.

I was telling Joe today that sometimes I have to get
yarn for a project, because even though I have tons of
yarn, sometimes I don't have the right stuff.  He said
"Martha is doing a good job of using up her bits of yarn.
That must be a lot of work".
I think it's great that he figured that out!  and he apparently
reads the blog, and does not just look at pictures.
He also told me the blog was very lame last week.  He's
right...it should get better after Christmas...

Happy Knitting...Merry Christmas...no blog post next
week since it's Christmas.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

We had a Christmas party last night and I feel like a
truck ran over me today.  Finished up the socks...
started a project, not enough to show. More next
week from me.....

Ruth is working on little projects...having so
much fun...
The hat pattern is Felicity by Wanett Clyde. Yarn is from her stash. The mitten is from Big Book of Knitted Mittens by Jorid Linvik. Pattern is dancing frogs. Yarn is West Yorkshire Spinners Signature.
Notice her snowflake dishrag too.

Martha has about 3" left to knit on body of sweater....
 sooo nice....

Have a great week, here's wishing you lots of
knitting time...

December - Countdown to Holiday Knittnig

December is here...I have been knitting Christmas
presents since January.  I want to knit a hat and some socks
yet, but I think I will not make it ...sigh.

I am ready to decrease the toe for these socks:

I will be glad when done, but...really love the yarn!'

I will be joining this MKAL

http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/lauras-workshop/3517171/1-25

Ruth and I did it last year. Knit for one hour or so, 12 days before
Christmas...a relaxing knit.  Last year I was disappointed with my
yarn choice, but this year decided to pick a recommended yarn...

Color is Plum...a dark purple...
Shepard's Wool, purchased from Loopy Ewe.
I can't wait to get started!

Martha is really really zooming along on her sweater...she will
be done in no time.

Ruth and her husband visited Cuba this week.
Yes, that is not a typo....can't wait to hear all about
her trip.

I need to really ramp up my knitting time, but first a Christmas
tree to decorate.......

Happy Knitting!

Push is on...Holiday Knitting

The push is on for Holiday Knitting....I am
so bored with these socks...keep thinking I should
start something else, but the smart thing is to carry
on and get them done. The 2nd one has a good start.

Ruth's Picard sweater is coming along.  Rowan
felted tweed.  So nice!!

She needed a little distraction so is making
this hat.  Lacinato. Yarn is Anne Hanson's and Spirit Trail's.
Really nice...I love it!

Martha is zooming along on her sweater.
I think it is so cohesive..don't you?

In other news:

We hosted Thanksgiving this year.  My cousin
teases that the drive is so far she has to pack a lunch
for the trip.  She showed up with this bag:

The family had fun'

Got my sleigh filled with foilage on Small Business Saturday.
I love this....

KeeLe and I are going to watch Hallmark movies
and knit on the damn socks!

Have a great week!

Blustery in Nov

It is blustery here today. Friday, my car thermometer
said 73 and today it is 32...burrrrr... but a great day to knit!
Got the ends woven in and the socks blocked today.
This is two socks perfectly sized one on top of the other..
yea!

I love the way these turned out.

Turned the heel on the 1st sock, same pattern as above...
I love these colors....

Ruth is zooming along on her sweater:
soooo pretty!

Martha is also zooming along on her sweater.
She loves the colors this time...me too!

She went to Webs and got some of her favorite yarn...
speckled!

In other news....
yesteteday was very nice here.
What's important to note about these leaves is....
Joe/Joey had the yard cleaned 7 hour prior to this picture.
They have spent every night this week for 2-3 hours taking
care of this may leaves every night!

I think after today the last tree is almost done....

Joe went fishing yesterday and caught some nice perch.

What a difference a day makes, huh?
Can't even see the tress in the back..total white out!

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time...wish me luck!
I'm quite nervous about the whole thing.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm thankful every day that
I have knitting to help me thru the stressful times....

Another Week Gone By

Another November week gone by...so fast!
I did not get as much knitting done as I wanted to.
I guess that is pretty typical these days.

Finished up the 2nd gray sock. I still have to
weave in ends...  Love how it turned out.

Started another pair in same pattern since my brain/fingers
are used to it.
Freza Sock yarn. Really nice...

Martha is moving along with her sweater.
She is ready to change the colors on the grey and yellow side.
needs to decide the next color change there.  On the yellow/green side
she has  to do another stipe of green then  change that color panel too.
It's much smaller on the smaller needles.
That wraps up another week....
Happy knitting.

Feels like November

It's November already..and it
feels like it. Though pretty warm...52 here today.
My week was very tiring at work so not as much
knitting as I'd like.I'm anxious to move on to something
else.

Ruth started a sweater in Rowan felted tweed yarn.
Pattern is  Picard.....barely started, but oh so pretty!

Martha started her sock yarn sweater over on size 2 needle.
She is going to make colors   more solid or monochromatic, and
go from lighter shades to darker as I knit down.

Joe, KeeLee and I took a ride to Silver  Lake today.
Pretty ride. The trees are mostly past peak, but it
was beautiful with the sun.

 Happy Knitting Season!
