Memorial Day

What a nice weekend so far...little knitting on my part,
but nice!

A small start on 2nd size 13 sock....

The Rhinia sweater is barely started.

 This is the true color.
I'm changing the sleeve pattern as I don't like the bulky
look of the one as written. Very slow start.

Each row requires a lot of concentration....look how many
pages it takes to figure one row out!

The kids came over  yesterday so I had to have an additional
brainless something going. I started the Hermione's Everyday
socks in the yarn from Martha.

I'm making them toe up. And I messed up again...I started putting
pattern on bottom of sock..I hate when that happens!  Thank goodness
I realized before I got too far.

Martha finished the body of  her baby sweater....!!!
I love the look of it...and she did all of the striping herself.

She did some touring this weekend. This is Rockport Breakaway

This is an old original barn...
Ilove this pic

Ruth finished up her beautiful shawl.  I saw it in person this week and
this pic does not do it justice. It is stunning...

 She finished her socks....

This is her sock in the yarn from Martha...plain pattern.
The swatch is Lion  Brand yarn she is using for an  Amy Herzog sweater...

The fishing report for this week.
Limit of walleyes again:

Have a great week...

13 is Bigger than 6

Last week I asked Mark to let me make a template of his foot.
I am making him a pair of socks. He is size 13. I am size 6.5
Look at the difference.

Using Hawthorne yarn from Knitpicks. I like it a lot.
Finished the first one today. I'm leaving that string on until
Christmas in case I have to take out and redo the foot.

That foot was a lot of  knitting for me
to do this week...can't believe I got it all done.  Especially since
I messed up the heel and had to do it over..twice!

The sock has right and left leaning cables every 4th row for
interest (aka...my interest so I don't get bored).

Got Joey's socks blocked today. I waited until I reinforced the heels

Next  project...besides Mark's 2nd sock...is a sweater.
Rhinia pattern.
I don't like the neck -- I want a higher, rolled neck so I can wear
over another shirt or turtleneck. We'll see if I can figure this out.
Using Rhinebeck yarn--Brooks Farm from Lancaster, Texas.

Wool/Baby Alpaca/Silk blend.  I swatched and it came out
perfect on a size 7 needle.

I may wait a week to start it.....

Ruth is making a shawl...
Yarn is Fiber Optic Yarn Paintbox Gradient in the swamp muck colorway. The pattern in Anne Hanson's Hazeline. She said lots of charts, but not a hard knit.

I think it's awsome looking!

Martha has a couple things going..which is unusual for her.
She finished up her pink socks...
She started a Dangling conversations shawlette...
I think those colors will be fun!
She also started a baby sweater today. Shetland wool.
She is going to stripe it.

This was her progress around 11:30 today:

She is moving right along....I think it will be fun

In other random news:

Joe went fishing both Friday night and Saturday night...
here are pics from Friday:

He just loves his boat
I love these little blue flowers...but they really overtake
the bed....

The purple teardrops in hiding in there too
Joey got me this box for mothers day....it's supposed to have three
bulbs, but I think it only has two. the  whole thing is su
pposed to fill with flowers, but i'm not sure how that will work with only two
bulbs?  Even if it had 3...how will it work?

I filled the wash lines today--getting a lot of winter things
ready to be put away.
Hard to believe its Memorial Day Weekend next week....
so far our spring has been very nice...

This was the view on my walk today....
that water is rushing out of the canal...
have a great week....

Little of this and a Little of That....

Very little knitting this week....I did get a little
progress done on 2nd sock...
I am at the point where I am really sick of it!

Ruth delivered this beautiful yarn to me in person...
from Martha...its much more pink where it looks white.
Very pretty!
 Here is the label
Hachito yarn...

Last week I mentioned that the Joey's baby silk yarn that I
made Avana with was hand wash only...so I decided to test it out.

Here is the swatch I hand washed on top, and the bottom
is same size, but machine washed and machine dried.
Good thing I did this test....LOL

Martha is making her current socks from same yarn,
different color...

She said she has been exhausted this week after work too....
They are sooo nice!

She is going to make more baby things after the socks are done.

Ruth is making a Tomten baby sweater...

It is so frikin adorable!  I saw it in person this week....there is a
lot of the teal color in the lighter color yarn.  So nice.

Joe caught some huge fish last night. Biggest
Walleye ever!  12.5 lbs....29.5" long

He said it was a beautiful night out on the boat....this is at
1:30 am....what other wife would be up at that hour
taking pictures!  ha!

Joey got a new ride this week...

The little kids are doing ok. Abbey is having issues....
Poor girl...

Mickey is her constant companion...

Have a great week....
