Another one done !!

Wendy's final clue came out on Tuesday, and I was able to finish up and
block this weekend.

 Details:
Pattern:  Wendy Johnson Summer Solstice Mystery Shawl
Yarn:  Skein, purchased at the Loopy Ewe
Needles:  Size 5 Addi Lace
I loved knitting this, as I've said week after week.
I adored the yarn slipping thru my fingers, must be the cashmere.

Tiffany modeled for me:

I would not  pick a caplet to knit on my own, but I like this

This looks old fashioned to me, I think it's the color.
Wearing it scarf-like:

Martha has finished up hers, but she was traveling this week to a family
wedding so it's not blocked yet. Pictures next week, I hope.

Ruth finished up her sweater. Isn't that adorable...see the cute button!

She also started a sock in an Anne Hanson Pattern, yarn is
Liberty Fibers. Merino super wash. Color way is Essex

Looking great so far!!!

I totally frogged the Stephen  West shawl.  I goofed on the I-cord edge and
couldn't recover....how could that even happen!  It's only 3 little stitches.
I'm not going to let this pattern get the best of me!

Hot Hot Hot here today, Joe and I are going swimming again.
Have a nice cool week - find some cool knitting....

Till  next week dear blog readers.....

Bring it on.................

i did not knit as much as I would have liked to this weekend. I'm trying
to move more and sit less.....especially since I sit 8-10 hours a day
at my job.....

Stephen West's new mystery shawl pattern came out Friday.
Wow, what an explosion of color is happening!
Awesome.
I have five wedges done (one is hiding) and need 32 complete for this clue.
It is really fun...some folks are already done....:check out the color combos here:
http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/westknits-mystery-shawl-kal-2012/2216249/1051-1075#1060
There are a lot of short rows in this shawl. Three per wedge.  Someone on the
group page said she used a German Short Row technique, and tons of people
are using that now, including me.  NO picking up stitches... LOVE it!
Here is a link to the youtube tutorial:

I have about 8 more rows of  Wendy's current clue to go before I'm done...she
has one more clue coming out on Tuesday:

I am having a lot of fun knitting this also. I'm not doing extra repeats because I'm
not sure I have enough yarn.  This shawlette has been an awesome project.
I think its the pattern, and the yarn combo.

Martha is doing the shawl, but has extra repeats in hers.
one extra repeat on clue C and two extra on clue D.She used up the extra beads
randomly on the end of the shawl too.  Nice!!!!

See how hers is much longer than mine.
I love the color.
Ruth is continuing to work on her baby sweater that she started last week:

I think it's so cute and love the color!

She also started a sock, but I have no details yet.

It's been so hot here, but I'm loving it.  So sick of the normal summery food so
I decided to do a little experimenting this weekend.

Saturday, made pizza on the gas grill. I make my crust from scratch.
Joe got the grill ready and Joey did the cooking.  He also made a white
pizza with garlic, oil, tomatoes, and cheese..yum

Both were really good.  An no stove on in the house....

You cook one side, turn it over, and add the toppings....
Red sauce, with cheese and pepperoni
White pizza. The crust needs to be really thin in order to cook properly.

Today, we experimented with Shiskabobs....I know they are not really
unique, but they are for us.

I'm thinking brownie sundae in a cup to top it all off.....

Enjoy the week. I hope you are getting rain...it skirted all around us today,
all we got were a few sprinkles this morning....

July fun

I have had an amazing July so far.  We had a nice, fun July 4th which included a little
boating and swimming and a lot of eating.

I managed to finish up Clue 3 of Wendy's Summer Solstice Shawl, and am
loving the pattern.

Her patterns are very intuitive.  Thank goodness Jeannine insisted we learn
to read our knitting - that is  critical in lace.

I also finished up Betty's 1st sock, and started the 2nd one. I'm so glad
I took notes the first time through. I forgot I did all of the knit stitches
through the back loop. I like that look - makes the stitches really stand up!

I have yarn picked out for Stephen West's mystery shawl.  He said it should
be 2 colors, and the 2nd color can be varigated. He said don't use colors
that go together, so it will really pop.  I'm really happy with my choices.
Madelilne tosh light.

Martha's Solstice is lovely.  She did an extra repeat of clue 3, I'm not sure I
have enough yarn...

Ruth finished up her Middy sweater.
Isn't is adorable!!!  I love the colors.

I've also been working on Martha's shawl...slow going from now
till the end.  Ruth finished up mine this weekend....oh I can't wait
to see it!!!

Have a nice week...I'm heading out to the pool.

The shawlettes continue

Clue 5 of the Through the Loops Mystery Shawl came out this
week, and thankfully it was only 6 rows. I was stressing I would
not have enough yarn.  I loved making this, and loved the
Malabrio Lace. I used size 5 needle, and bound off on size 7.
There are a lot of nice shawls that were complete, check out TTL
thread:  http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/fans-of-through-the-loops/2197065/1-25
Mine seems a little smaller than most. Some ladies did the long version,
I was ready to be done, and did not have enough yarn anyway.
It will be fun to wear when the weather is cooler.

The 2nd clue of WendyKnits Summer  Solstice came out this week.  So far
only 18 rows.  I bet this week will be a huge clue.

I am really liking the Skein yarn. I'm using size 6 needle.

Martha was done with clue one and ripped it out. She was using the
nupps version, but decided to use just beads. (no pic yet). Ruth has not
started hers yet.

Ruth is busy finishing up her Middy sweater from the new Knitty.

Using Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Extra Soft yarn. Wool and acrylic.
Getting close to be done!  She is having fun!

I am having so much fun knitting these shawlettes, that I signed up for yet
another mystery shawl. This one starts mid-July. Stephen West...I love all
of his patterns, but have  knit 0 so far. I thought even if I did not do the
knit a long, at least I got the pattern at a discount!

I have some really cool colors picked out...pictures soon.

This weekend was all about the fun for me, including my knitting.
Lots of family and friends and giggles...oh the giggles.......

Have a fun, week!
