Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day...Hot here in Western NY.

Not much knitting again this week.  A couple more repeats done
on the shawl.

I was ready to do the heel gusset in the giant sock and noticed a
booboo a few rows back so in the process of tinking that darn thing
back.

Ruth was traveling this week, and started a travel sock.
I love how the colors are striping.  Yarn is unknown.

Martha started shawl.  Alby pattern.  She is going to do it all in one color
rather than two, which I think will great.

 In other news....
since there has not been that much knitting to share, I asked
Ruth to take some pictures of her trip to Oklahoma.
these are Botanical Gardens and Bricktown.

this is the Oklahoma bombing site memorial.
She said it is very moving in person.

This beautiful woodpecker was in the front yard Saturday morning

And yesterday when I was walking, look who was watching...
apparently I was late for snuggle time!

Prince Harry and Megan have not been around since
Wednesday. I hope they are ok.
The crossed the road a couple of times that night.
Luckily this nice guy stopped.

Have a great week dear  blog readers.

Little bits

The weather continues to be good, so I continue to walk, and
not knit as much.

So little bits of progress this week.

The Bare Branches shawl .
I'm quite worried I might run out of yarn...
this has been in stash forever...not sure what I
will do.

Little more progress on the GS (Giant Sock).
I am at point where I decreased 4 stitches on leg.
Mark's so tall I make his socks 9".

Ruth has more progress on Little Tern blanket.
She has started the edging!  What a lucky baby!

In other news...Joe has done A LOT of fishing this week.

He and Joey went Thursday, and Joey caught the walleye fish of a lifetime.
It's actually bigger looking in person.
Here is another view...I love this one....
Joe went to Lake Erie today.

He said they froze this morning
I guess we are having a fish fry party on Friday
with his friend Nicky and his wife Denise who he
went with today.
He is so happy, but tired.

Oh and his blower is fixed and back home so no more
vacuuming the concrete!  LOLOL.

Have a great week dear blog readers.

Simple

A simple post today...I'm tired, and not much knitting to show!
Worked a little on the Bare Branches shawl...
not much else.
I did a lot of walking after work this week.
Just love being outside.

Ruth worked on her baby blanket...

Martha did not have enough new knitting to share.

In other news:

Joe and Joey went night fishing last night.
Joey is holding the fish and the lure he caught it on.
Walleye.

He was looking at the sun, that is why is face is a little
scrunched.  LOL
We had the family over for brunch today.
Joe's blower has been broken, and he is so
creative, he used an old vacuum he rescued
from the junk to pick up all of the crap that
is falling from the trees.

Yea, he's that kind of guy!

We celebrated Vicky's birthday also.

I was loving having my parents, brother and especially my
kids here for the day.

Even Mickey came out to see everyone.
He misses the kids.
Have a great week dear blog readers!

Mojo

Hey dear blog readers....How was your week?
I have my knitting mojo back!  Yea!
Worked quite a bit on Bare Branches Shawl.
Love it.

I am up to about 70 stitches...lots more to go.
Although it is not easily memorized (at least not for me)
the pattern repeats enough that is is intuitive..which I like.

I did work a bit on the 2nd sleeve of the sweater...

I did not  knit 2 or 3 nights this week too tired...
I like to knit a few rows in the mornings before work
I get up at 4:00 am or so...(that is not a typo)  get coffee,
Mickey jumps on my lap and we get ready for the day.
I play words with friends, check facebook, and knit if I can.
I try to pick something brainless so I don't make mistakes
when my brain is still sleep.  Lately it's been the giant socks.
This is the 2nd sock, with  barely a beginning....

Ruth is moving along on her Little Tern Blanket.
So nice......
She has made a lot of progress this week.

Martha has made progress on her Beckmickle sweater
by Louise Harding.  There is a little mistake where her needle is
she is hoping to tink down and fix. Good luck!

In other news:

The weeping Japanese Cherry Tree is blooming...
she needs a little trim..but don't we all!
Martha has a  new dog...her daughter's grad present...
Her current name is  Savannah...Emma wants to
change it to Poppy...So cute!!!  She is adopted.

I have been doing a lot of walking...my walking mojo is back.
I've had a rough couple of months at work...NO lunch most days
which means NO walk.  The weather is nice enough that I have been
walking at night when I get home. Feels so good.  If I get 6-8 thousand
steps during the week I'm doing good.

Yesterday  Tiffany and I took a  walk along the beautiful canal
we have here and got 6500 steps. By end of day I had
this  whopping #..which is good for  me.

Today so far I have 11,915. We took a long walk again, and I have
been busy and also walked a little more.  Tomorrow is Monday so
wish me luck keeping the walking mojo up.

Ruth walks almost EVERY day, even in the coldest, snowyest
weather...she is my role model.  Martha walks a ton also...
I need to get in the groove...

I'm off to knit a little...
Have a wonderful walkful, knitful week!
