Fun Stuff....

I finished up the Elizabeth Zimmerman Surplice Jacket, matching hat, and attached mitties.
This was very fun for me. I used Reynolds Odyssey yarn and loved it. Now the only thing
is, it needs to be handwashed, so I guess I'll put it in my grandbaby hope chest and when the stuff needs washing I'll handle it myself.

I am also working on mom's sweater--working on the back, past the armholes.
Started a shawl this week too - Luna Moth Shawl free pattern from Elan.

Ruth finished up her Tomten Jacket and wow is it cute! She used Cascade 220 Superwash.

Here are some pictures from Martha:
Noro socks:

This is a sweater she is making for her daughter. This is the 2nd attempt - she had to rip
out the first time, but she did say this is a new and improved version. Pattern is
called Stella blouse.

I'm tired tonight. Had the family over for a picnic today and it was so cold and windy we ate indoors. Brrrrr
have a great week.

Not much progress

Not much progress this week.....I worked on the surplice jacket and thats about it. One sleeve is done, and the 2nd underway. Then all that is left is the border. I need to work on mom's sweater as class starts Wednesday.

Martha sent a picture of some unusual really cool looking yarn she got a Webs sale this weekend. (She lives less than an hour from Webs!) She's not sure what it wants to be yet.

And here is a picture of Martha's daughter, EmmaLouise, in her prom dress.
Isn't she absolutely stunning!

Martha was able to secure us a room in Kingston to attend Rhinebeck this fall.
I had one but too far away...I was panicking that we would not get one at all.
She called vs. doing the internet search and had much better luck.
I told Joe about how the rooms were filling up so fast and he said, "whats going on there besides that yarn thing?"... I told him that believe it or not, "millions" of people flock to this event from several states every year. He was amazed. I said that more people than the 3 or 4 I hang out with knit...he was stunned. Oh well, his education is slow but sure.

Its really cold here tonight, we might have a fire.

have a safe week.

Total Cuteness!

Last week I worked furiously to get a pair of baby-mocs done for a friend at work before her baby shower. They were fun, cute, adorable. I used an organic cotton yarn that was extremely splitty.
The ladies at the shower loved them! My friends Betty and Marcia want some...etc. I purchased the pattern from Ravelry.

I put a pen in between them so you can see how small they are.

I have been working on the surplice EZ sweater, and finished up one of the
red socks, but didnt have time to photograph them. I need to start working on moms
blue sweater again...class next week and I need to get to a point where I can get some
serious help.

Ruth has been working on an Elizabeth Zimmerman Tomten jacket and it is coming
along nicely! Her kitty Lucy is helping with the photo session.

This is a little sweater she made for her new (soon to be born) niece Parker.
I think she told me the pattern was on Ravelry....

and...ta da...................Martha finished up her Sienna sweater...isn't it great!

We have had a busy week here. Joe and I pretended we were 20 somethings this weekend and partied both Friday and Saturday nights. I think Sunday we were both in bed by 8:00 !!
Friday we went to see Lord of the Dance which was totally amazing.
Last week of college for the kids....thank goodness.

Have a nice week.....I'm watching the sun come up as I write...its so beautiful.

Withdrawl!

I have serious knitting withdrawl this week! Tiffany's little doggie Tyson has been here for 9 days and I did not knitting, except on the bus when I worked on the red sock. He got ahold of the EZ surplice sweater...don't blame him though. Joe was supposed to be watching him for just 10 minutes and he got the sweater, and 5 stitches dropped off right in the increase section. I am still too mad (at Joe) to fix it. I think I will get to it this week. In the meantime, today I stared a pair of baby moc-a-soc's, pattern was purchased on Ravelry. I have just started, but they will be cute. I need them for a baby shower at work on Thursday. I will take pictures before I send off.

Ruth has been working on EZ's Tomten, and it is REALLY cute. Red and Blue. She tried to send pictures, but they didn't come thru.... hopefully we can have them for next week's post.

Martha is coming along very nicely on her Sienna Cardigan sweater!

She decided to put a pattern in the sleeve. Can't wait to see it all put together!

I'm sitting here looking at the pool hoping we can be swimming in a month or so. Can't wait.
Well back to the little baby booties....oh I forgot to tell you...the little recipient will be named
Ryan.
