Simmering

Hi Dear blog readers...we are simmering in the summer here in Western NY.  It was back to work this week, and it was a  hard week at work. The temps are high, and the pool is beautiful. I managed to get out and walk a lot in the am before work. My favorite time of day to walk. I like to wake up with the sun.  It feels like fall here though. The mornings are cool. It's hard to explain.

Knitting has been slow--and I'm ok with that.

Today I was tinking back the shawl because I saw a mistake and noticed this dropped stitch. So glad I saw it.  All fixed now.   Shawl is coming along.

I did another little swatch on a size 5 needle for the Waffle pullover. It calls for size 7 as a guide, and I am a tight knitter.  This one worked. But I have to say that I will have to try this on a lot to make sure it fits as I go along. I'm prepared to rip if necessary.  I've done so much swatching I'm kind of sick of the colors already!  HA!

Ruth has started a sweater (2nd time starting it) since last time we blogged.

Sweater is Malin. Natasja Hornby. Yarn is Shelter. Colorway is Foothills and Truffle Hunt.  It's difficult and she is knitting it beautifully.  Follow the link to see what it will look like when it's done.

Martha has a lot of wonderfullness to share this week!  She is making trigger finger mittens for Ren, her son's girlfriend.

So cute!

She made hats for her son Tom, and  Ren. This is Ren's.

This is Ren's  Ear Cozie hat.  Ren wanted stripes

And here is Tom's.  Adorable.

Here is Martha's finished sweater she made in record time (Almost finished - in this pic sleeve is not done).  I saw it on her in person last weekend and it's stunning. Color, fit pattern...A 10 out of 10.

In other news:

Joe's garden is spectacular this year. He has spent a lot of time out there trimming, weeding and watering.  We are in a drought here..it's bad.  There have been many field fires in the area.  They have had rain storms within 2 miles of us...but keeps missing us.  Hello water bill!

I did not get to see Tiffany or her boys this weekend. She took them to a park to enjoy the weather.

Little Jack came with Joey for breakfast yesterday. Charlotte and Casey were off having fun.  He is a little doll baby.  So chill. Well he is not little. I can hardly lift him anymore.  8.5 months old and around 22 lbs. His uncles are very tall so maybe he will be too.

Have a good week dear blog readers....

The yarn in your shawl is so pretty. I love the subtle shades of color. The garden looks beautiful. It's hard when it is so dry. I hope you get some rain. I love the swatch but then I haven't been knitting on it. The other projects are also wonderful.
