Variety

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

Nice morning here in Western NY.  We've had a rainy week, but yesterday was wonderful and the sun is shining bright this morning.  I took a nice walk as the sun was coming up - my favorite time of day to walk.

This week my knitting was kind of on and off.  The baby bootie was very small....so I did not do the 2nd one.

I fell in love with this little sock pattern:  Short Story and have been wanting to knit them for a while now.  I think it was the yarn combo actually.  When the yarn became available I quickly added to my              cart...then noticed the shipping  was $30  huh?  Oh yea, it was coming from Finland.  Nope not spending more on shipping than the product.

So I looked online and found these little bits of yarn from River Colors Studio.  Practically Perfect Smalls - 81 yards.  Great for cuff/heel/toes. At $6.50 each, I ordered a few for future socks.   River colors has great shipping rates also.   They are in Ohio.

The sock yarn is from Rhinebeck this year..Miss Babs. There is probably enough for another short pair.  I'm thinking the light pink would be a nice accent also.

While I waited for the yarn to come I worked on this log cabin blankie I started a long time ago.  It's from Dishy cotton yarn. I ordered thinking  I would make dishcloths...nope.  So it will be a small blankie for the little kids when they come.  It's kind of fun deciding which color to use next.  I work on it once in a while..not that often. I guess I should get it done.

Ruth is traveling this weekend and started a sock to knit on the plane and in downtime. This pic is from Friday so I'm sure she is much further along.  Fun colors. I forgot name of pattern...will fill you in next week.

Martha is working on her sweater...taking it easy so she does not stress her elbow out.  So very pretty.  She has 15" to go on the body.

In other news:

I made this shrimp from the Cozy Cook blog. She is my go to recipe blog. It was a fun Friday night dinner.

I took Mason to the playground and for ice cream yesterday.

He's doing well with his little brother.

Jayce has gained enough weight that they don't have to go for weight checks every three days anymore. YEA !  Yes, his hair is still red.

Saw the grandpup Benny yesterday too

Joe and Joey went fishing Monday night. Look at this monster Walleye they caught.

It is very long

goes from Joe's shoulder to his knee (he's not a super tall guy but still....)

and very wide. It is bigger around than Mason!

Finally, Ruth was traveling to attend her granddaughter's graduation from college.

She is a beautiful stunning accomplished young lady. Congratulations!

There is a lot of good news in this post. The knitting looks lovely. And I agree, I just can't afford or won't pay overseas shipping. The two little boys are darling together. Such a sweet moment. I also love Mason with his ice cream cone. Congratulations to the fisherman and the graduate. Graduations are always a wonderful celebration. So much pride and hope for the future.
