Ravelry

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

do you ever think about what our  knitting life was like before Ravelry?  The way we search for patterns and yarn and combos...it's the most amazing tool.

This week I needed a new, fairly simple project.  I have some beautiful yarn Martha gave me in 2023 called Hedgehog Fiber Skinny Singles color Beach Bunny. Size 3 needle.  It's very vibrant and beautiful.  I looked at the yarn on  Rav and saw that someone had made the Piitu fingerless mittens with it. Someone else had used a different color for the ribbing.  I think the yarn is very bright so I used a little green to calm it down a bit.  I may make mittens instead of fingerless, as someone else on Rav did.

Ruth is zooming along on her Community Cardi by Alicia Plummer. Sawkill Farm yarn. Smashed Peach Heathered color.  I bet she will be on the sleeves soon!

Martha is making good progress again on her vest. This time the fit is much better.

 In other news:

Joe and I celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary this week.  Martha and her husband Mark celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary this week!

We celebrated Jayce's 2nd birthday.  Tiffany took him and Mason to the zoo on Thursday.  He was exhausted by the time we all came over for cake.

Have a good week dear blog readers.

Little things

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

How was your Easter?  Mine was very nice. The kids came and my heart was very full. Great to see  my brother and SIL also.   Sometimes its the little things that make us happy.

Finished up the Easy Goes It shawl, and I've been wearing it a lot this week.  Just need a little thing around my neck to stay warm.

Size 3 needles

 Dancing Leaf Shimmy yarn.

10 extra repeats of the lace section, which I love.

I dug out the sock made with Kashmir Sock Yarn by Fiber Optics. I mentioned before that I was not that crazy about the colors.  I was going to make a strip heel, but realized that, for me, the gray broke up the other colors a lot.  Just a little thing to make me like them better.

The after thought heel is kind of a pain to pick stitches out but its all good.

Im almost done with Sock #2 heel.

Ruth is zooming along on her Community Cardi sweater.  So very nice don't you think!

Martha had to rip her vest and is now moving right along again.  Little Fig Marguarite vest.

Beautiful colors!

 In other news:

I got to see my favorite Little Things this weekend.

The boys came over Saturday and we colored eggs with Cool Whip.  Notice Jayce's mouth --zoom in.

Let me just say that what goes in green......comes out green!

The eggs are beautiful

Little Jack will be 5 months old next week

Mason loves to hold him and feed him

Love the vase Martha's son made and she gave to me at  Rhinebeck.

And finally, this little thing will be 2 on Thursday.  My heart!!!!

Have a great week dear blog readers...

Enjoy your little things, whatever they are.

Stuff - Some Good and Some Sad

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

I had some time to knit this week.

The shawlette had some pops of pink so I decided to make one pink stripe so it would really pop when wearing it.

There are 7 repeats of the lace - 4 rows per  repeat.

I am currently on repeat 13 to try and use up the yarn. I'm knitting it very loose. Still a lot of yarn left.  LOL

Ruth is far enough along on her sweater to have the sleeves off of the needles. Very pretty.

Martha is working away on her vest.

 In other news:

We lost dad on Tuesday and his funeral was yesterday.  It was a very sad week here.

Dad was 91 and had survived a lot of surgeries over the years. I'm thankful we had him for 91 years.

I was going to give the shawlette away, but I knit most of it while I was sitting with him at the hospital so I think I will keep it.

Dad would always look at my knitting and say "what are you building now".  cute.

Have a good week dear blog readers....keep your loved ones close.

Sameness

 Morning dear blog readers...

This week is more of the same here.  I've been at the hospital all week with dad.

Managed to work on the Easy Does it Shawlette.  It's mostly garter so good for brainless knitting.

Ruth finished up her darling colorwork hat!

And started a sweater!  Community Cardi by Alicia Plummer. She is  using Rhinebeck yarn. Sawkill Farm. Color is Squashed Peach Heathered.

 Martha started a new vest.

Yarn is called Sisa by Mirasol, color is Apatite. The pattern is Little Fig Marguerite Vest, by Michelle Reid.

 No other news this week.

Have a good one.
