Wedding Season

 Hi Dear Blog Readers!

June is the start of wedding season...and we were lucky enough to attend one Saturday. My cousin's son, Steve got married. A great time was had by all. Pictures down below.

I have completed ribbing and 1.5 repeats on the 2nd sock, pattern is Feathering the Nest.

I have noticed that when I put knitting on the sheepskin to photograph it, the colors are so accurate!

Ruth is starting her first sleeve on the cute pattern she is making up using leftover LettiLopi yarn.

So cute!  And going fast!

Martha went away for a relaxing weekend and has no updates.

Father's Day

 Hi Dear Blog Readers

We had the family over for Father's Day picnic today. Pics down below. Nice day.

I have two more rows to go on the Feathering the Nest sock.  I think I will end with 20 stitches on each needle. It's for mom, she will love these colors.  Will kitchner it tonight and get a start on sock #2. This one went fast and was fun to knit.

This week I started a cowl - pattern is Thermis. The yarn is from the festival Ruth and I attended last week...Aisling Yarn - DK Merino.  Just ribbing so far, will be starting pattern portion soon.

Ruth finished the knitting on her BEAUTIFUL Robin's Nest Cardigan....

No pictures until she adds buttons.

She started another sweater.  Using Letti Lopi yarn...making her own pattern with leftover yarn from the Daytripper cardigan she recently finished.

Martha's hand is feeling better so she is knitting again. Here is her Daytripper.  I love her colors!

In other news:

Ruth made strawberry jelly! Yum!

Joe and I had fun making fish tacos with walleye fish he caught at beginning of the season...ymmm

Not bad for 88.5 years old!

Have a good week dear blog readers....

There's A Reason for That

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

I was thinking I haven't been knitting much lately...then it dawned on me. There's a reason for that!

I usually sit down at 7:00 pm to knit, and am in bed by 8:00!  My knitting should ramp up because I love to sit outside and knit in the summer until dark.

This week I worked on the Feathering the Nest sock.  Cruising down the foot.  The toes will be a nice coppery color that mom loves.

Ruth and I spent some much needed time together yesterday and went to the CNY Fiber festival in Bouckville, NY.  We had a nice catchup.   I bought two skeins of yarn. Didn't realize till I got home that they are almost identical!  There's a reason for that.  I saw the first one, single ply, nubs, and fell in love with it but did not purchase.  Then a while later, saw the same colors in a different booth, DK weight. The colors must have been on my mind...went back and bought the first one I saw.  I guess my loves this year are blue nubs.

Ruth showed me her sweater in person yesterday. It's just so lovely.  Heirloom quality.  SO MUCH work.  She still has a lot of work ahead of her sewing it up.  I can't wait to see it finished.

She bought these beautiful skeins of yarn yesterday.  Not sure what she will make with them...can't wait to find out.

Martha is still having hand/wrist problems.  She got a cortizone shot this week and feels better enough today to work on her Daytripper sweater a little bit.  Her  grandpup Moxie is checking out the sweater with her. :)

In other news:

Mason came over today for a bit.  He has had a rough week...still not feeling that great.

He loves the Llama I got him at the show yesterday.  His favorite book is Mama Llama.

Joe fastened an old plastic seat to the 4-wheeler and put a seatbelt on it for Mason.  It's hard to drive with him in the front and hold on to  him.  This is a blooper picture--- it actually worked great.  We showed him how to put his feet on our back to hold him up from slipping.  I love it because now I can drive him around too.

Have a great week dear blog readers.  Be safe and be kind.

Same Stuff

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

Happy June!

Almost done with the 1898 hat..or not?  3 rows till bind off.  I may totally rip and start over. Now I understand why some people made mods.

This is the back..See where I sewed the garter stitches together.  There is a lot of fabric there and I don't like how it looks.  I am going to take it out and try again.

This is the front.  The hat actually fits much better with this as the back, but I don't want the grafting in the front, even if I can make it look nicer.  So I may just be like Martha and totally start over. I'll see.

Working on heel flap for sock.  I made up my pattern, and like it.

Slip, slip, knit thru back loop

Slip first stitch, then purl back

Ruth finished up the first sweater sleeve.  Looks great!

Martha was at a conference this week so no update.

In other news:

We had the shower for Casey and Joey today.  Tiffany and I have been planning for a while. Joe's sister Donna did the food...Tiffany made the pasta salad - Casey's favorite!

We had it at LynOakes Winery in Medina NY. Very small and cute

Casey was adorable. Joey came and was so gracious to everyone.  They were both so appreciative.

Joey brought her flowers.

The food table.

Joe and his three sisters.

Left over flowers that were on the tables.

The place settings...
