Little Bits of Knitting

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

I have done little bits of knitting this week. One more stripe complete. I am so sick of this little blanket, but am almost done.  I think I have enough yarn left for one more stripe of each color, except gray.

Started a Sophie Scarf for my friend Sady who loves bright colors.  I've had this sock yarn in my stash forever.  Pattern calls for DK yarn, so I will add a few more increases.

Ruth is working on her 2nd version of   Levenwick sweater by Gudrun Johnson.  She totally ripped out because it was too big. Almost ready to separate for sleeves.

Martha finished her first fun colored sock!

In other news:

I got to see the grandboys a lot this weekend which was wonderful!  No picture of Mason, but here is Jayce who just turned two months old.  He loves to have someone talk to him.

Have a good week dear blog readers....

Well, What are you gonna do, you can't change it

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

A short post (again ) this week.

I  had  a little time to knit this week, working on the cotton Log Cabin Blanket. I'm almost out of yarn. It will be for the little kids when they are here.

Martha is working on her FUN colored sock...very pretty.

Ruth ripped out her WHOLE sweater, and started over. It was just going to be too big.

In other news:

When mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer five weeks ago, she said well, what are you going to do, you can't change it.  She went down hill very fast, and my dear mom passed away on Wednesday.  Mom was always at the heart of this blog. Tiffany read the whole thing since inception in 2007, and found lots of family events where mom was at the heart of all of them.  Please keep my family in your prayers this week...I won't write about it again.

Dull Update

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

I've been at my parents this week so not much knitting to report.  I did start a little project that I may share this week. Something cheery.

Ruth is working on her sweater, as is Martha. Martha put her sweater in time out as the fit is too big.  It takes just the right moment in time to rip, and she's not quite there yet.

Have a good knitful week!

Welcome June

Hi Dear Blog Readers....here we are at June...how did we get her so fast?  It's a beautiful cool morning. It was very hot here this week.

I did not knit much this week. I've been living with my mom and dad.  Mom is in in-home hospice which is a lot of work for the family. Im still working full time. Not much brain power left for knitting at the end of the day...but I do play a lot of Words with Friends now.  LOL

Ruth is working on a beautiful new sweater. Sweater pattern is Levenwick by Gudrun Johnson. It’s from a Brooklyn Tweed collection. Yarn is Imbue. Color is Orchid. She's ready to take the sleeve stitches off the needles

Martha's sweater is coming along nicely.  She measured and thinks the body may be too wide now. Sigh. She may rip back a bit.

In other news:

We had a birthday celebration for mom and her sister Edith on Friday, mom's 86th birthday.  My cousin brought Aunt Edie to see mom, and brought a cake.  It was very nice.

Mom looks great, don't you think!  She can't move much from the chair she is in.

Aunt Edie will be 87 tomorrow.  Irish twins!

My dad picked the pink flowers for mom, and my cousin brought the roses.

The little boys are getting big.  Mason got a sandbox, which he loves.

Mason is 6 weeks tomorrow already!  He is growing right along.

I just finished this book and liked it. It dragged a little in the middle, but I guess it was all necessary to get to the end. It's about a Gay Uncle who raises his niece and nephew once summer.

Have a good week dear blog readers...enjoy the weather.
