Happy Memorial Day

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

Happy Memorial Day,.  The weather was beautiful today.  It has been rainy and cold and windy all week. I'm not sure that I walked more than 3 days.

This week I finally  wore the Golden Assam sweater I finished last year. The sweater is so itchy I had to find a shirt that would cover every part of me!  Ha!

Finished up the Piitu mittens.  Lovely little pattern.

Size 3 needle. Hedgehog Fiber Skinny Singles

Lots of yarn left over so I started a scarf to use it up, and use up other sock yarns in the process.  Cast on 300 stitches.  I'm not doing the rows in any particular number. Some colors may be 6 rows, some 4, some 10...who knows!

I restarted the Alhambra sweater. Reminder I ripped it out a while back because the fit was just not going to be right, and the stitch count was off.  I am being extra extra careful counting this time.

Ruth started a pretty cowl. Cité cowl by Anne Hanson. She has knit it before. The yarn is Hedge Hog fibers merino  and mohair mixed.

And..tada!  She finished up her beautiful Community Cardi.  Just waiting for buttons. Soooo nice!

Martha started a baby sweater for her daughter's friend who is having a little girl.  Baby Shrug by Debbie Bliss.  The yarn is   leftover Shirstycat yarn, and she is  using two strands at once

 In other news:

Picture of lasagna Joey made last week...yummmm

Tiffany took the boys to a farm market that had pony rides on Saturday.

I would love to know what Jayce is thinking right now.

Joey took the kids for a tractor ride.

Jayce had a death grip on the corn bread.  LOL
Even Jack got in on the fun!

Mason say cheese...who else does it with such gusto!

Joe and I worked hard all day today planting flowers into pots.   It looks nice.  But we are both exhausted.  Have a good week dear blog readers..back to work tomorrow!

Cold Sunday

 Hi Dear Blog Readers.

It is cold here today for a Sunday in May.  That's ok, there is always knitting to keep us warm!

This week I have finished up the 2nd mitten...just have to kitchner it and make the thumbs.

Ruth has had company all week so did not have much time to knit.

Her company was her niece, Emma, who is Martha's daughter. Emma is a wonderful knitter.  Ruth gave her a little sock 101 class and they made this cute little thing for practice.

Ruth is still making progress on her pretty sweater.

Martha is blocking her vest. No new pictures this week.

In other news:

I am finally feeling better this week.  I was able to walk a lot, which felt good...no I'm lying...it felt GREAT!.   I am continuing to read which also feels good.

Yesterday we got to watch Tiffany's boys for a few hours.

We took pictures in front of the mural at the library building.

Played in the library for a while. I love our library.

Went to the Holley Falls.

Today we celebrated Mothers Day when everyone was feeling better.  These are our four littles.

Have  great week dear blog readers. How can next weekend be Memorial Day already!  I sure hope the weather warms up here.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day, Dear Blog Readers!

I hope your day was pleasant.  Mine has been...the weather outside is wonderful. I've only been out a bit...but loving it.

This week, I came down with Covid, and still went to work (at home) so no energy to knit afterwards.  Yesterday I managed a little knitting on the 2nd mitten.

Ruth is making steady progress on her Community Cardi. The color is much prettier in person - very peachy colored. First sleeve almost done!

Martha finished up the front of her beautiful vest. She is in full end-of-school mode, so not much knitting during the week for her.

In other news:

Because of the covid, we did not get together with the kids this weekend. Seems so weird.

Joe spent yesterday digging the front of the house to replace that white pipe you see there.  Luckily he had the help of his little tractor. So I did what any good wife would do to help - I made him brownies!

Its all fixed today and we are talking landscaping! Plants! A tree! Finally!

I read two books this week.

Back After This by Linda Holmes. A cute contemporary Rom-Com.  I've read her books before and like them.

I re-read November of the Heart by LaVryle Spencer. She is one of my all time favorite romance authors. Mom and I used to devour all of her books. I have quite a few sitting on the bookshelf next to my computer and think of mom when I look at them.  I have decided to reread them and then send them to the thrift store.  At my age, I probably won't read them more than once more anyway. I have read all of her books, more than once.  I think its because of the wonderful character development.

I miss mom today.

Have a great week dear blog readers!

Lush

Hi Dear Blog Readers...with all of the rain we have had this week, everything is so green and lush.  No outside pictures but it's so nice. Joe has been mowing this week. One day it's 75 and one day it's 55..Spring in western NY.

I have been knitting on the wrist warmers that I did end up turning into mittens.  I will do both thumbs together once mitten #2 is done. This  Hedgehog Fiber Skinny Singles yarn is so wonderful. the Piitu pattern is fun and intuitive, though I keep pretty careful track so I don't mess up.

Ruth is done with the body of her sweater, and moved on to the sleeves.  She is ready to be done with it. It's very pretty.

Martha is working away on her vest...she is almost done with the front.

 In other news:

Joey's kids spent the night Friday.  The 7-8 pm hour was tough, but we survived. They are great sleepers.

Tiffany's boys were here today but no pictures.

Have a good week dear blog readers, and enjoy the lushness of spring!
