Sunday Stuff

Hi Dear Blog Readers...not much knitting this week.  I did a lot of walking.  The work walking challenge ends today, thank goodness.

Here is the shawl with just a few rows added since last week:

Ruth is giving her vest a time out. The directions are very UNclear and she is figuring it out on her own..doing what makes sense.

She started a baby sweater for a ltitle girl - Baby Fir jacket.

Martha has worked hard on her baby sweater all week. She reworked the collar so it looks bettter.

 In other news:

The wind kicked up this week, knocked the umbrella into the pool, and shattered the table. OMgoodness.

What a mess Luckily no one was hurt.  We have since replaced with a plastic table.

Kids came swimming. Such fun.

Have a good week dear blog readers.

Breaking Up

Hi Dear Knitters...we are in a heat wave in Western NY this weekend. They have canceled schools Monday and Tues pm.

I worked on the green sweater for a bit t his past week and ended up ripping it. My numbers were off again.  It's not the pattern, it's me. I guess I am not in a good place to concentrate that  hard. But I did count after every row but who knows.  Sometimes you just have to break up with a pattern.

I started a cute little shawlette.  Pattern said it was good for varigated yarn which I have a lot of.

Candied Crescent Shawl.  Size 4 needle.Soklusu O yarn.  colorway Shepherd's Delight

I have to pay attention, but the pattern is easy.  Yea...like a beach read but knitting.

Ruth is away this week and working on her vest.  She is making good progress.

Martha has finished up the first baby sweater she is making for her daughter's friend, and started a second one.

2nd sweater has sleeves.  Yarn is Mirasol yarn by SISA. colors called Apatite. It’s teal. It’s 60% wool 40% alpaca.  If you look close you can see the color matches her toes! Ha!

Not much other news this week.

Joe and I worked outside a lot getting the yard in shape. Got the pool opened today. yea!

Now What?

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

It's been a pretty nice weather week here in Western NY.  I am doing a step challenge at work and have been walking...a lot!  I did manage to finish up the sock yarn scrappy scarf. I thought this project would be a slow burn over the summer, but I found I enjoyed switching the colors and the mindless garter.

Size 4 needle

Main color:  Hedgehog Fibers Skinny Singles.

My favorite knitwear models stopped over today.

The scarf needs a good blocking and it will look even better.

Now what will I knit?  I don't like going into a Monday without anything. Maybe I will get back to the sweater.

Ruth is moving along on her  Slipover by Trine Kristensen vest.  Now that she has knit a bit, you can really see how nice the yarn is.  Dayton Finnsheep Farm yarn.

Martha has been busy with end of school stuff.  She has three half days this week and she is DONE.  I suspect we will see more knitting from her going forward.

In other news:

The kids came separately for Fathers day today. It was a beautiful day out.

Have a great week dear blog readers...

Gartering Along

Hi Dear Blog Readers...how has your week been? Ours has been ok!  Work was busy and stressful...but oh well.  Joe and I worked outside a lot getting shrubs and flowers and the garden planted.  I was able to walk most days which feels great.

I am gartering along on the 300 stitch scarf.  It's fun to switch colors and decide which one is next. I didn't work on the sweater all week. Honestly I'm not that interested in it. I was very interested in it the first time I did it  LOL.

Ruth started a new vest.  Pattern is Slipover by Trine Kristensen. Yarn is from Dayton Finnsheep Farm. Natural brown Finn sheep color.

Martha has been getting ready for Emma's small backyard wedding at her house that is happening today!  Martha has a beautiful yard..is is a picture of what part of the ceremony space looks like:

Friday was Joe's birthday so we went to dinner with two of his sisters. Had a very nice time.

Have a good week dear blog readers...

Quickie Post

 Hi Dear Blog Readers.

A quick post today because I still have a lot to do on a Sunday.  The weather is like October here. Friday, Saturday and Sunday it's been rainy and /or windy.  Chillyyyy  brrrr.  I hope things turn around.

I did get out and walk quite a bit so not much knitting.

A few rows done on the scarf

The sweater is ready to start the patterning.

Ruth finished up her Cité cowl by Anne Hanson.  Just beautiful.  It looks so soft and fluffy!

Martha is working away on her cute baby sweater...cant wait to see it done.

In other news:

Tiffany took her kids on a hike this weekend.  They love to be outside.

Casey posted this pic on facebook for Jack's 6 month picture.  So adorable.

Jazzed up the front of the house a bit.

Joe and I finally picked out some bushes for the front of the house. Picture next week. He worked hard all day planting.  Probably good it was cooler.

Have a good week dear blog readers....Knit on!
