A little help

 Hi Dear Blog Readers

How can another week have flown by so quick?  The weather was hot again this week, and rain mostly missing us. Our front lawn crackles from the heat.

I have been wanting to knit the Waffle Pullover since the pattern came out a couple of months ago.  There are some really pretty colors on Rav...and I think my favorite combo is light color as main color, with a pop of dark for secondary color.  The pattern calls for Jane yarn, which looks nice but is so pricey. Not many yards to each skein.

Here is where I asked for help.

I have been using Microsoft Copilot for lots of things lately.  AI (Artificial Intelligence) is not going away. We talk about it at work all of the time. I took a beginner class on how to use it. It does not replace humans, but helps them.  So...I asked what yarns are similar to Jane yarn.

I searched a couple of suggested yarns on websites, and looked at projects made with the yarns on Rav.

I saw that one person knit her Waffle pullover with Scout so that is what I chose.  I like that I can ask copilot questions like its a person in my living room.   It has helped me with my flowers, recipes, vacation questions, etc.

The shawlette is coming along. I'm close to being to the same spot I was before I had to rip.

I started a pair of socks from yarn Martha gave me. It's very nice...and thick. They will be warm socks.  I cast on 72 stitches to work with my big calves, but after ribbing I will decrease to 68.  I think they will be a simple K3, slip 1 pattern.

Ruth started a new shawl!   Sunlit Glass by Kristen Kapur. Yarn is Lichen and Lace wool and linen.

It's going to be very very pretty. Love her color choices!

Martha had a lot of time to knit this week on her beautiful sweater!  Deco Lace Pullover.  She is blocking it to see how much stretch it has before she carries onward.

Ta da!  Look how great it fits!  Just stunning!

In other news:

The kids came for a picnic yesterday. This is a terrible picture, but they all had fun.

I caught Mickey peeking out of the window at our neighbor, Princess. A pretty calico kitty.

Have a good week dear blog readers. NO blog next week. We will be away for a few days.

Check it Once, Check it Twice

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

Hot week here in Western NY.  But beautiful. We need rain at  our house. 2 miles east, west, north or south...have been getting rain when we have not.

How does the lace shawl look compared to last week?

If you guessed significantly smaller, you are right. I had to totally rip back and start over.  I found a glaring mistake way back.  ugh.  But it had to be done. So check it once, check it twice. And hopefully it's right.  My knitting has not been too on track the last month or so.

Ruth finished her baby set and gave it to the mother to be, Kassie on Saturday. Kassie loved it!  Of course she did, it's darling.

Hedge Hog fibers sock yarn. Baby Fir Jacket designed by Isabel Demarchais. Lilacs for Lila hat designed by Julie Crawford.

Martha came to town this weekend for a wedding reception for her daughter but she does have knitting to share!.  Her yellow sweater is beautiful!!!  Look at the details!

 In other news:
Charlotte and Jack came for a sleep over on Friday.
We had a ton of fun!

Charlotte and I went swimming while jack napped.

We did not see Tiffany's boys this weekend.

Have a good week dear blog readers...check it once and twice!

Talking vs Doing

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

I have been off of work half of the week and it felt wonderful.  Just wonderful.

I met Ruth for breakfast on Thursday and we talked about knitting...a lot!  She has done a lot of knitting, and I have been so busy I have only been talking about it.

Managed a couple of repeats on the shawl.  Once the increases are done, you knit several repeats and then start decreasing.

Ruth is very close to being done with her Baby Fir jacket. She is going to make a hat with the same yarn next.

Martha finished up a pair of socks she has been working on for a bit. The socks are from the same yarn ball, one end is pulled from the inside and one the out side!

The yellow sweater is made of GMS Cotton Comfort yarn, it is the Deco Lace Pullover by Jeri Riggs pattern.

Martha said it's easier to concentrate since she is not working for the summer. It's going to be beautiful!

In other news:

My friend Ann is here from Arizona this week. Glad we were able to spend an evening together.

After dinner we met Tiffany and her boys at the beach.

The rest of the story...LOL

Mason loves sticks...and logs

I read a really good book this week.  How to Read A Book.

I really enjoyed it and hope to find another good read for the coming week.

Joe and I watched the  fireworks on July 3rd from the Wegmans parking lot...Great seats and no bugs!!!

Have a good week dear blog readers...Hope you can do things more than talk about doing them!
