More of the Same (not a bad thing)

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

It has been a glorious weekend here in Western NY with more nice weather to continue this week!  YEA!

I had a very tired week, but managed to get to the heel on the Teosinte Socks. Working my new favorite heel, Slip, Slip, Knit.  Can't wait to wear them!

Ruth started the sleeve on her sweater..part 2.  She started and it was too big so ripped back and is totally on track now. I got to see this sweater in person this week and it is totally awesome..you can't tell from the pictures.

She purchased some yarn this week from the yarn store in Fairport and they turned it into sock blanks for her.  She will do the  heels and toes. I love the colors and can't wait to see how they turn out!

Martha went to a festival and got this fleece for her dog Penny. Pretty nice huh!

She also got this beautiful beautiful yarn!

Poor Penny has been diagnosed with diabetes and now needs shots. Poor thing.

Here is the left front of her sweater

So nice!!!

She is working away on the socks. Little cable up the side.  So cute!

In other news:

Ruth's grandson Ray was a vampire for Halloween,. He is the cutest vampire I've ever seen!

Mason came to play Saturday.

We frosted cupcakes and colored.

Went outside to jump in the leaves.

Tiffany got some washable pain and they decorated his pumpkin(s)

Pretty good for a just two year old!

Have a great week dear blog readers.

Stay safe and be kind (oh and have some fun!)

Little Update

 Hi Dear Blog Readers....

It has been in the 70's the past two days and glorious here in Western New York.  As it turns out, I had to miss Rhinebeck...I can't even talk about it yet. LOL.  Joe and I got covid the week before.  Then mine turned into bronchitis. Martha's daughter Emma went with them instead.  I was glad Ruth didn't have to make that long drive alone so it all worked out.  Things are improving and I have been very domestic the last couple of days.  Lots and lots of cooking. Stripped the beds and hung all blankets, comforters outside to dry. Oh the smell is just heavenly.

I did manage to finish most of a sock and start the 2nd one.

Notice I put the toe stitches on spare needles in case I don't have enough yarn.

Fingers crossed I do!  If not, I will add black toes maybe. Or some fun color.

Pattern is Teosinte Socks,

Yarn is  Fiber Optics Kashmir that I got at Rhinebeck in 2015.  It's soooo nice.

Mason's Christmas sweater is coming along. There is a little pattern at the bottom but I think it is too long and I have to rip back. Waiting for Tiffany to send me measurements of a shirt that fits him.  I combined two patterns so it can have a Henley Neck.  (Got the idea from Martha because she recently did that to one of her sweaters).

Ruth is almost done with the body of her Gentle Morning Sweater.

Martha is working on her I found him cardigan.

She had to rip the ribbing three times but is on her way now.

She started a sock to match the sweater!

Here are some fun pictures they sent from Rhinebeck:

Martha and Emma

You can see back of Martha (Daytripper sweater) and Emma

Finally got the fall decorating done today,.  Joe grew all of the pumpkins in the pictures.

The cornstalks have lights that will come on at night, as well as solar lights. Can't wait to see it later.

Have a good week, dear blog readers.  Stay safe and be kind.

Rhinebeck Eve

 Hi Dear Blog Readers,

This weekend is Rhinebeck Eve weekend for Ruth, Martha and I.  We leave on Friday morning.

Just in time, I finished up the Daytripper sweater. Added buttons today.

I took it for a spin to the farmers market today..nice and cozy!

Per Ruth's recommendation, I needle felted the steek down. Worked great!

Added some little black buttons to back for stability

Since I had all of the stuff out to sew on buttons, I finally added buttons to the Thermis cowl. . Yarn is  Aisling Yarn - DK Merino.

Ruth is working away on her beautiful  Gentle Morning sweater!

Martha is working away on her I Found Him cardigan.  It’s being made with Moodna yarn from Rhinebeck last ear.  She is  going to finish the last repeat here and measure it. It might be time for bindoffs for the armpits.

She finished up her hat...love the colors!

In other news:

Tiffany took Mason to a pumpkin farm on Saturday.

I watched him Saturday night so they could go to dinner for their 6th wedding anniversary. He is saying "Cheese".

Made Pasta e Fagioli soup today...and bread.  So good!

Have a good  TWO weeks dear blog readers. No blog next week.  Stay safe and be kind.

What's That Thing I Keep Seeing??

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

Pretty cool, but pretty here in Western NY today.  This week Joe looked at the blog. He had not looked in a very long time.  He brings up a picture of the Lansbury shawl and says What's that Thing I Keep Seeing on the Blog?   Well, it is a shawlette, made of three parts, named after Angela Lansbury the actress...and it took me all summer...and it was very medatative...and it felt wonderful in my fingers...and it is really soft...and it is really small for a 3 month project...and I like it a lot....oh and it's finally done!

 Lansbury Shawl

Size 3 needle, Fleece  Artist Vine yarn.  It's single ply.

Pictures in the bathroom mirror are not my strongest skill!

I have the button band done on Daytripper sweater. The buttonhole band is on the needles and I will work on that tonight. Let's hope I get the button holes in the right spots!

Ruth is working on her second shortie sock. Sooo cute!  Today is  Ruth's birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!!

Martha decided to block the I found him cardigan to make sure gauge was right. Spot on!  She will continue on when it dries.

She is working on her hat while the sweater dries...look at the lovely colorwork!

In other news:

Two weeks till Rhinebeck!  yea!  We are all gearing up for sure.

Mason came today to play with us for a while. He didn't have a hat with him but who needs to bring a hat when you have a Grammy that is a knitter!  He wore my hat and cowl.

We had fun outside.

Have a great week dear blog readers. Stay safe and be kind.
