Memorial Day

Hi Dear  Blog Reaers...I'm a day late, but here I am.

Happy Memorial Day.  Pouring rain here today.  Rained all day Saturday too. I did manage to get some flowers planted yesterday.

After many tink backs, managed to finish up the first sleeve of the sweater, and have a start on the 2nd one.  I can't wait to get this done!  So sick of it!  You all know the feeling!

Knit a couple rows of the sock.  Need to decide soon what the heel will be. I think I might do an afterthought heel.

Here is  Ruth's finished beautiful sweater!  Talcott cardigan by Amy Herzog.

The whole sweater needed to be seamed, and she did a great jobNotice the beautiful buttons.  When I first learned to knit sweaters, they all had to be seamed.  I'm not a fan of that process myself. Ruth did a beautiful job.

She got some yarn from Longmeadow Farm when we went to a fibre show a couple of weeks ago.

And...drumroll...her hat is finished.  Beautiful. I love her choice of colors.

Martha is super busy with end of school paperwork and activities. She is working on a fun colorful sock.

In other news:

Martha's and her husband finished expanding their patio.  So nice and roomy...She is deciding how to use the space now.

Martha's daughter, Emma, graduated with her Doctorate!  She is going to teach music at a college in Maine. Big exciting changes coming for her!

I made Cowboy Caviar today...yumm.  I added in cucumbers...so good and fresh!

We all went to Joey and Casey's yesterday.   Joey and Mason went swimming in Lake Ontario....fun!

Tiffany brought a little water toy experience for Charlotte and Jayce.  Both thought it was pretty fun...Charlotte will be sitting up soon, and Jayce will be walking soon.

I had 17,000 steps in yesterday...I'm pooped today. Time to go knit!  Have a great week dear blog readers...

Flower season

 Hi Dear Blog Readers....

I have not  knit much in the last two weeks...still working on the 1st sweater sleeve.. Still!

Worked a little snowflake sock:

Ruth finished up her beautiful Talcott sweater, pattern by Amy Herzog. Bartlett yarn.  I saw it in person yesterday and it's beautiful.   Pictures next week.

She started a Jamison of Shetland  hat....they publish one every year. It's hard to jigger all of the colors and she has had a few starts and stops...but looking good now.

Martha finished up her sweater. I saw it in person yesterday and its really really nice...and interesting how the decreases look - in a really good way.  Notice the beautiful buttons...So nice!

She started a sock on the way home from Rochester to Mass....fun color yarn from Ruth!

I hope to get some flowers in this weekend....lots of pots planted on the patio in vibrant colors...YEA

Have a good week dear blog readers...

Boring

 Hi Dear Blog Readers....

It's damp, but humid, and sometimes rainy here in Western NY  today.  Boring. Just like my knitting.

I'm at the stage where I need something a little "more", but also want to get the sweater done.

The sweater sleeve is just above the elbow. Feels like I've been working on it forever!

I started a sock.  Decided it needed a little pizazz so I added a snowflake on the front and back.  24 stitch pattern repeat.  See the pink used for the cast on...I can't find the rest of the yarn!  I think I have enough left for two rows of the 2nd sock...

Ruth gave us this deck of pattern cards....mainly used to make cowls. The whole deck is different colorwork patterns.  I wanted something that would be at the top of the sock, and the rest plain.

I think I have lost a knitting bag somewhere.  Looking back on the blog, I completed a pair of socks last year that I can't find.  That is hours of knitting!  An the pink yarn...what else is missing???

Ruth has the increases done for the top of her sleeve cap. Such pretty cables!

Martha has one sleeve done on her sweater...she is styling it from the beautiful porch floor her husband just refinished. I think it's sooo nice (sweater and floor)

In other news, Jayce's big first birthday party was yesterday. He had so much fun!

Tiffany decorated it so cute.

Jayce walked all over the place with his car.  He is not close to actually walking yet.

Little Charlotte Jane. She was a good girl...we pushed her around in the umbrella stroller and she was this happy all day.

Dad looks great for 90.5 years old!

Cake, anyone?

Jayce loved opening presents.

Have a good week dear blog readers...knit on!
