Quick

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

Gosh this week went by quickly. I work from 6 am to 4 pm then zoom the 35 minutes to see dad in the hospital.  Zoom home and it's almost time for bed.  Dad was moved to a different facility this week that has a richer rehab program. Let's hope he can do it.

I finished up the Ric  Rac shawl today.  The colorful yarn hides some of the textue stitches I think. I'm very happy with it.

I tied in the ends, but left little bits that I will snip after blocking.

I can't wait to see it blocked...that will be another day.

Ruth started a new vest: Pattern is Redhook from a Jared Flood book she bought in 2009!  Yarn is Bartlett Yarn sport in Grape color.

Martha has been traveling to  Germany since Thurs or Friday. With the big computer glitch, she is still in London. Hopes to make it there today.

She started Silverleaf shawl while waiting....and waiting...and waiting...

In other news:

Tiffany's in-laws took the family to an African Safari near here yesterday. They all had fun.

(Note in background that Curious George came along as well).

I got to see sweet Charlotte this week.

Have a good week dear blog readers....knit on!

And the Heat is On...

And the heat is on...I can hear that song playing in my head from the Eddy Murphy movie Beverly Hills Cop....It's been hot here this week....but the pool is GREAT!.  Wednesday was scarey here.  Tornado warnings all over and 4 touched down in Western NY.  We never get them...at least we never used to.

With all of the walking and swimming and reading this week, there was not much time for knitting.

I've finally reached a  new section on the Ric Rac Shawl.  The stripes are getting smaller.

I like the salmon color a lot so maybe I will do two of those...

Ruth has all of the four pieces of her hat together now.  Riggies Beannie by Gudrun Johnston. Jamison’s Shetland yarn from her stash.

Isn't so cool!

She is working on a sock now in this beautiful yarn. Sock pattern is Jazz Strings by Anne Hanson. Yarn is Hedgehog Fibres merino cashmere blend

Martha has given up on her sock for a while and looking for something different to knit.  Yesterday she went to a Wooly Thistle show and got this beautiful yarn.

In other news:

the kids came swimming yesterday.

Joe taught Mason how to doggie paddle (with life vest on of course)

Jayce loved the pool

Mason was so worn out he could barely stay awake to eat dinner....LOL

Have a good week dear blog readers.  So many things going on in our country right now take a moment to appreciate the good in your life.

Red, White and an Exciting Blue

 Hey dear blog readers....

July and summer heat is upon us.  Yea!  I spent many hours at the hospital this week.  Dad has been moved to a rehab facility....hopefully they can get his strength up a bit.

I was able to work on the shawl here and there.  I'm on the last repeat then go on to something new in the pattern.  I could keep going since I have lots of yarn, but honestly I'm ready for something else.

Ruth is nearly finished with her Riggies hat.  I can't wait to see it put together!

This week she bought a craft cart and put it together!  Organized the treasures around her chair and now is very organized.   How cool is that!

Martha is helping her daughter move this weekend....working on her sock.

In other news...

Some pictures from July 4th festivities:

Joe and I went to a fancy wedding on Saturday...very nice!

And for the exciting BLUE, we found out  today that Joey and Casey are having a little boy in December.

So I'll have 3 men and a little lady for my grands.

Have a good week dear blog readers...till next time
