Starts and Stops

 Hi Dear Blog Reader!

This was a much quieter week here...yea! I think we had lots of rain.  I was able to get a couple of longer walks in.  Joe and I are watching the Buffalo Sabres hockey and loving it.  First time they have been in the playoffs in years.

I am zooming down the foot on the first sock:

I wanted something else to knit too.  A sweater.  Joe's niece is having a little boy in September so I looked at some patterns. Didn't want to purchase anything.  Finally just asked Co-pilot for help.  I told it what yarn I had from deep (very deep) stash:  Rowan Pure Wool Worsted superwash.

I said I want size 3-6 months, top down, raglan, I want to add buttons and a collar.  I said I want a cable. And this is how it looks so far.  It had me do kbl for increases. I wasn't sure if I liked that or not but now I do.  I am adding only five button holes.  From top to bottom it will be 8". I have about 3 to go.

The first time the numbers it gave me were not right, but it fixed it pretty quick. I am really liking this yarn.

Ruth finished up her hat!  Look how cute it is! It’s the Roadside Beanie. The Shetland Wool Week pattern of 2019. Jamieson & Smith Shetland wool. She made one before and gave it to me!

You can see she has already started a new project.   Tinder Sweater. It’s from Brooklyn Tweeds pattern collection. Yarn is Harrisville Watershed. Granite color.  It will be pretty. Love the color.

Martha was busy at work this week. Here is the progress on her sleeves. She has to  redo them and make the decreases every 6 rows rather than 8.

 In other news:

I saw three of four kids this week.  Jack was taking a very long  nap when I went to visit yesterday.

Mason was riding his bike until it started to rain.

Jayce was helping grampa clean up from winter. He works for pennies...literally!  And he is a lot of help. Joe  has trouble bending over so the kids do that stuff for  him.

Charlotte was helping mom and dad and grampa fill sand bags yesterday. They live right on Lake Ontario and it's expected to reach flooding stage in two weeks if the stars don't align and the water level goes down.  It's very scary. Happened back in 2017 and it was disastrous for everyone along the lake for miles.

Have a good week dear blog readers....enjoy spring!
