Dull, But Necessary

 Hi Dear Blog Readers!

My knitting has been quite dull.  When we left off two weeks ago, I was working on the giant size 13 socks for my son in law.  I worked on them a lot, finishing up the first one, and zooming down the foot of the second one (if you can zoom a size 13 foot).  The foot part is 13".  I'm going to concentrate on it this week to get it done as soon as possible.  I have a sweater picked out (finally) for my Tess yarn purchased at Rhinebeck last year. I can't start till Iget some of these necessary knits out of the way.

Started the sleeve of the 2nd Wallaby. The first color was a darker red and did not look like a good color for a little girl.....so I ordered this red and like it much better.

The t-shirt sweater is on the back burner for a bit. It is stockinette till the ribbing bottom and I won't wear it until next year anyway.

I did make a cute cowl while we were gone last week.

Venezia, size 8 needle, Cascade 220 100% wool yarn from stash.  Pattern calls for 5 repeats. I did 3.5 and think it is plenty large enough.  I have decided not to block it. I like how pillowy it looks. Though it is a gift for a friend....do you think I should block it???? Help!  LOL

Ruth finished up Mason's green anchor sweater, and I lost the picture. She is on vacation this week so I'll share next week. It is totally cute.  She is working on a pair of K3, P1 socks.  Knitcircus yarn. Very nice colors!

Martha finished up her socks. Also K3, p1 pattern.  Love the colors.  She didn't realize how purply they were and she loves them...me too!

Today she was winding yarn outside just to be outside.  Look at this creative set up she has.

This blue one is Peace Fleece Ruth and she bought in Harrisville during her first quarantine visit with Ruth.

This is Jill Draper Yarn, merino.  She is thinking of an Ann Hanson pattern for this.  But the pattern is misplaced.  Both of these yarns are sport so a lot of knitting. She bought this at the store in Rochester, Lift Bridge, during my last visit.

This final bunch is the blue WEBS yarn she made a blue sweater with a big cape like collar that just didn't work. Ruth pulled it all out for her  Now she has  another sweater to knit! She will do  a swatch to figure out gauge because there’s no label. She might make a sweater for her daughter out of it.

 In other news:

How can it be September already?  I love the cooler evenings...but time is going so fast.

I may be a grandma by next week's post...it's coming soon.

Have a great week dear blog readers.

Stay safe and be kind.
