Little more stuff

 Hi dear blog readers!

I had a very busy week so not much knitting. Mon, Tues and Wed I had events after work.  Friday, Joey's kids were here overnight and Saturday we took all four kids to the Alpaca days. We visited two farms.  They liked it!  Today was Mason's friend party.  Oh! and work tomorrow!

I am working on the ribbing on the sweater.  I saw a trick on facebook to K1, PTBL, which I'm doing. It is neater.

Ruth started a new sweater! So far so pretty. Sweater pattern is Rauwerk Trees by Katrin Schneider. Yarn is Harrisville.

Here is a picture of the last sweater she finished.  A beauty for sure!

Martha worked all day on her sweater.  She is on row 68 of row 81.  She has knit all day.

 In other news:
This week was Mason's birthday.  Joe took him and Tiffany fishing at his request.  Friday, Joey's kids stayed overnight and we went to Alpaca days on Saturday.  I'm pooped in a good way.
Here are some pics in no particular order:

Stuff

 Hi Dear Blog Readers...

It's like fall here today.  I can't remember much of the week except that I worked. I have a couple things wrong with my hip so I can't walk like I'm used to.  Hopefully that gets sorted out in the next couple of weeks.

I came across this interesting blog post on spotting fake and stolen patterns.  Knitter beware.

 fraudulent knitting listings

It's crazy that we even have to worry about this.  And sad.  I hope you have a litte time to read it.

This week I worked on the sweater. Miles of stockinette.  I'm ready to put it on a string (again) and give it a good soak and see how long it is.  This is merino wool, so I will not put it on spin cycle in washer...I think it will pill easily.  If it's too wide, or too narrow, I'm prepared to rip so it fits right.

The boys tried on their sweaters last week and both fit so I'll bind  those off while waiting for this sweater to dry.

Ruth was away last week and worked on this mitten,. I love the colorwork. She said it's all leftover from other projects.

Martha is redoing her Carlina sweater made with Harrisville shetland wool yarn.   Working three colors at once made it too tight. She has a good start, and will do it a different way going forward.

In other news:

Remember in the spring when we planted this purple viney flower and I said I wonder if they will touch by fall. Well they still haven't.  Once side is very full, and the other side is long and stringy.  The flowers are so pretty.

Joe and I had a formal wedding to go to last night. I was wondering if my pearls would look good.  I think they went well with my dress.  I learned that my definition of formal, and a 20 year old's definition of formal are quite different things!  ha!  We had a nice time.

Mason went fishing today...his favorite thing. He turns six on Tuesday!

This week I am reading The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout.  It's interesting.  Kind of slow, but thought provoking.

Have a good week dear blog readers.

Catch Up

 Hi Dear Blog Readers....

It's fun to catch up after a week away. I worked quite a bit on the sweater and the 2nd sock while we were away.  No pic of sock. I'm  going to try sweater on again in a bit to make sure fit is right.

Ruth has a lot done on her beautiful sweater since last post.    Dream Sweater by Claudia Q. Moorit Hill Yarn. Taupe color yarn.

Martha looked through her friend Ann's stash to find some yarn that will work to finish up her vest. They found a solution that will work...yea!  She is going to rip back a little bit.

Her green sweater is getting difficult with the  three colors at once.  Her friend suggested she rip back to the purple and then hand stitch the other colors in.  Tricky but she can do it.

In other news:

We had fun away.  It was sooo relaxing. The weather was perfect. Not hot.  No rain. And beautiful sunsets.

Tiffany surprised us and drove the two hours to spend a few hours with us and have some fun. Here is Mason's first rollercoaster...they have a tiny amusement park in Sylvan beach that is very very old. This pic is from the top!

Memories of Sylvan beach. We took the kids here when they were young.

Loves fishing

Jayce and I hung back while they went fishing.  He does not love the boat.

The boys came over for a while yesterday and we went exploring for minnows.

These pictures are from the Erie Canal...Even that is pretty at night.

Have a good week dear blog readers.
